Guess the Story Ends
Lead in
Do a pair activity of tracing letters of the words (story, words, fifty, write) on each other's back. Brainstorm the main topic of the lesson with students: writing fifty-word stories.
This satisfies students with outstanding kinesthetic intelligence.
Main activity
Students are separated into two groups and they get 6 stories without ends. Stories are taken form http://members.ozemail.com.au/~collinsb/bc/fw/50words.htm
and from http://www.tangents.co.uk/50words/ Their task is to read the stories and match them with the ends. The winners get a prize (chocolate bar).
This satisfies logic/maths intelligence.
Wrap-up
Students switch partners, write their own 50-words stories in 10 minutes, illustrate them and post them on the blog. This activity is especially suitable for students with developed language and visual/spatial intelligences.
